The Byron Church of Christ is a small non-denominational family of Christians who worship and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. The name "Church of Christ" is more of a descriptive term rather than a denominational affiliation, so "Church of Christ" simply means that we are a church that belongs to Christ. We are a Bible-based and Christ-centered fellowship that lives for the glory of God and the spiritual growth of people. We seek merely to be faithful obedient followers of Jesus. We are accountable to no one but God, and we follow no one but Christ. We aspire to be Christians Only, but we do not claim to be the Only Christians. We try to be as faithful and obedient to God as we possibly can, but we never assume God's job of judging the eternal destiny of others. It is true that not everyone who claims to be a Christian actually is one, but anyone who has entered into a saved relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ, as described in the New Testament, is a Christian and, therefore, a member of Christ's Church. As members of Christ's church, we realize that human tendencies get in the way, but our objective is to continually return to the Scripture of our Lord so that the Word of God may write itself on our hearts, shaping and reshaping our lives for the Glory of God as we strive to apply His will to our time and place.
